Nadur
Due to Malta’s relatively small size, you will be able to explore many different parts in one trip. Consider adding some of these lesser-known towns to your itinerary to get a truly authentic feel for island life.
If you’re planning on spending at least some of your holiday on Malta’s sister island of Gozo, Nadur is one spot that has to be on your radar. This traditional town lies on the beautiful eastern coast. Visitors can enjoy the varied landscapes that define this corner of the world.

From the viridescent valleys to the blue bays, Nadur is brimming with natural charm that’s best enjoyed up close and personal. If exploring a new place’s history and culture is what really gets your travel juices flowing, there’s the Kelinu Grima Maritime Museum, which pieces together the island’s fascinating naval history through various displays and artifacts.
Żurrieq
For our second stop, we’re heading back to the mainland and the town of Żurrieq. The town itself is often overshadowed by the neighboring Wied iż-Żurrieq. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions along the western coast. Here, you will find the enchanting Blue Grotto. A series of sea caves which are undoubtedly one of Malta’s most naturally stunning sights.

Symptomatic of many of Malta’s towns, there are many chapels to explore in the town of Żurrieq, many of which date back to the 18th century. You will also find plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can mingle with the locals, and enjoy some Maltese specialties as you carefully plan your next adventure
Għargħur
Għargħur is technically classed as a village. But we’re sure you’ll forgive us for including this dreamy spot in northern Malta on our list. Nestled on a hilltop between two valleys, Għargħur’s elevated position allows visitors to enjoy truly breathtaking vistas of the island. Here, you will also find some of the most memorable hiking trails Malta has to offer. So don’t forget to pack your walking boots if you’re heading to this hidden Maltese jewel.
