Guess what?  Southern Oregon’s got beer!  Yep, it’s true!   Visit southern Oregon and hike to Upper Table Rock, ride your bicycle down the twist and turns of Mt. Ashland Road, play a round of golf or paddle your way through the white waters of the Rogue River and then cap it off with a cold beer.  Sound good?!

“Medford on Tap” – is a tour for the beer lover. In a state known for its sheer volume of breweries, Southern Oregon is taking the beer industry by storm and there is no better place to visit incredible nano-breweries than here in the Rogue Valley. – Will Volpert

Will:  The introduction of the brewery tours is another example of how the craft beer industry has recently grown in Southern Oregon. Multiple breweries have opened their doors in the past year here in the Rogue Valley – and there are more scheduled to open in the next six months.  It’s an exciting time in the industry and we’re glad to be a part of it!

Will:  Indigo Creek Outfitters’ most popular excursion continues to be half-day rafting trips on the Rogue River, however the brewery tours have picked up steam. The majority of our customers are folks who like to get off the beaten path, see something new and who love an authentic, genuine experience. The nano and micro breweries that we visit provide just that – and the brewers we meet along the way truly care about their products and customer experiences.

Patti:  I’m guessing your crew is loving the idea as well; having a pint of local brew after a day of rafting sounds like the perfect way to cap off the day.

Will:  Glen Finch, who is entering his third year with Indigo Creek says the brewery tours fit well into the rafting culture. I agree with Glen, I think you’ll find that river guides – and our customers – are much more inclined to enjoy a cold beer at the end of the day rather than a glass of wine. The tours are down-to-earth, relaxing, and personal. You can even stay in your rafting clothes and hop right into the van for the brewery tour.  And yes, we do all of the driving so our customers can just sit back and enjoy the experience.

Patti:  I have to admit I don’t drink beer, but it still sounds good to me and I know Abi would love it!  Your tours seem to mirror the wine tasting experience, right?

Will:  Indeed, brewery tours take a page straight out of the wine industry. It’s the same idea as a winery tour because we’re visiting different breweries, learning about how the beer is made and meeting the brewers. One difference though, I think we have a lot more fun!
